My dad was one of the first to import silk from Italy and Japan in the early 1960’s. He was way ahead of his time, doing business with the Japanese and even learning the language at a time when “Made In Japan” meant inferior quality. And the silks he used to bring home – well let’s just say that while he had a closet full of gorgeous dress suits and my mother beautiful coats and dresses, even his bathrobes were dupioni. I attribute my lust for fine fabric to this childhood association of running my hands over all the silk hanging in my dad’s closet. 84”Long X 21” wide. Rosettes: 84”Long X 26” wide.
